The latest in Nike basketball tinkering is the Nike Hyperfuse, which is roughly an ounce lighter than the the revolutionary Nike Hyperdunk that released in 2008. According to Bill Bowerman, one single ounce on the feet meant 16 pounds of stress on the spine, so lightweight technology has been the focus of Nike engineering and has culminated into the Nike Hyperfuse.
The Nike Hyperfuse features a special mesh-type material on a one-piece upper that offers the utmost in breathability and feather-like levity. Currently worn by Rajon Rondo in the NBA Finals, the Nike Hyperfuse is just another notch on the belt of Nike’s pleasantly plump waistline.
